Bah! Humbug!  Christmas shopping is for the birds! But I have to please the family with exactly the right present, and I have to figure out something for them to get for me.  I don’t want anything, except maybe a new pair of shoes. I have always appreciated the Christmas message. It is an important one, spiritually, and I am glad to see that it is now a secular holiday as well. The spirit of giving is so important to all religions.  But we have taken it too far!  It is too commercialized! It is too much work! Humbug!!!

Wait a minute…something for someone I love, something for me….I know, I KNOW.  My better half would love to see Judy Collins and she will be in OKC March 9, 2018. I just know if I get her those tickets, she’ll get me tickets to see “Greater Tuna”, opening March 15, and running through April 8, 2018. After seeing “A Tuna Christmas”, I couldn’t imagine a better Christmas gift than tickets to see that show…what a holiday!  But now I can, because I have yet to see “Greater Tuna”, the first hysterical show about two really funny guys, played by two equally funny guys, Don Jordan and Jonathan Beck Reed!  “Greater Tuna” is going to be a hoot, tickets are going to be hot, and I know I’ll get them in my stocking if I just get ‘she who must be obeyed’ tickets to see Judy Collins!  After all, I like Judy Collins too, and I know she’ll enjoy “Greater Tuna” with me.

So, while the rest of you poor slobs are struggling with Christmas shopping, I’ll just hang out buying a new pair of shoes and sippin’ egg nog!  All I need to do is go to www.cityrep.com or call Civic Center’s box office at 405-297-2264 where “Greater Tuna” will be presented in the Freede Theatre at the Civic Center.  The curtain for CityRep productions is always 7:30 p.m., excepting matinees at 1:30 p.m.  The Freede Theatre is located on the north side of the Civic Center building, and the curtain time is helpful for parking while there is construction in the area.

Judy Collins in concert “A Love Letter to Stephen Sondheim” followed by “Greater Tuna” is a Merry Christmas AND a Happy New Year! 2018 is already off to a great start!
